I try to give my students plenty of opportunity to reflect on their growth as we approach the end of the semester. With that goal in mind, I had my students tell me what they remembered about their experiences with mathematics while they were in elementary school. You can read their responses by clicking the image.
After a minute, I had students exchange quotes and then find a new partner ("someone with the same birth month"). This time, after they read each other their quotes they discussed what they could do as teachers to help ensure students had the kind of math experience they wanted them to have.
After a minute or two, I had every student write one idea on the board.
I took pictures. (You're welcome).
